Birthday Front Porch Surprise

Earlier this summer, if you recall, I came home to find a mystery bunch of asparagus on my front porch. Yesterday, while we were out a Lowe's buying cow manure, a birthday elf stopped by and dropped this off for my birthday:

Okay, so it wasn't much of a mystery since I had a good idea who left it and there was a message on our answering machine from Loretta.

This is a very pretty bird feeder with a suet feeder and bell-shaped food brick. The birds have already found it and are enjoying the new feeder as I type.

Thanks, Loretta!

Richard is wondering when the porch fairy will leave something for him... Maybe a Green Lantern statue? A Star Trek captain's chair? A guy can wish, right?

More Kitty Shenanigans

Before we left Harrisville, Michigan we stopped at the "Craft Cabin" to look for some souvenirs from our trip.

Richard found these little catnip pillows with jingle bells that we knew our kitties would love. Yesterday I gave them their new toys and recorded them playing with them while the neighbors enjoyed their fireworks.

Who works in this grocery store????

On our drive up to Harrisville we stopped to eat our lunch in the parking lot of the Busch's grocery store. (Yes, a fun time was had by all...)

We also took the opportunity to use the restrooms at the store before hitting the road. Their restrooms were a huge improvement compared to the rest stop we stopped at on Rt. 224, but we couldn't help but wonder...

Why do they make their employees go through this little door? Do they have a little three-quarter-scale bathroom in there? Very creepy....
