Meet Spot

Our newest resident of our backyard on Deerfield Lane is Spot.  She's been hanging out for the past 24 hours and we've noticed that she has a large spot on her side.  Is it just a mark?  Was she shot?  We don't know.  She seems to be getting around okay, but we think it's strange that she's hanging around so much.

Public Enemy Number One

Every year our neighbor complains about the groundhog living between our yards.  Last year a groundhog was responsible for eating the bottoms off of half of my tomatoes and the year before I witnessed a groundhog finishing off the last of my near-harvest Brussels sprouts (which take a VERY long time to grow).  Groundhogs are not welcome in my yard.  This one has a Havahart trap with his name written all over it.
